Craze of charm bracelets during 1950s

Charm bracelets were very popular during 1950s and there were very less number of companies and designers to create them. Walter Lampl was one of the famous designers and he was famous for designing enamel hearts. For girls it became regular to wear charm bracelets at young age. The charm bracelets produced during 1950s were spotted on the arms of politician’s wives and celebrities.  Jacqueline Kennedy and Mamie Eisenhower showed off their charm bracelets. Elizabeth Taylor had several collections of bracelets. Lucille Ball wore a musical theme bracelet.

With celebrities showcasing the charm bracelets on their body, it hardly took few years for public to follow this trend. As a result, by the end of 1960s and mid of 1970s, they had become one of the fashion accessories.
Folks even started giving charm bracelets as gifts, and wearing the silver charms as fashion item.
